Some people collect cars. Some people collect deals. Ed Vecchiarelli has spent a lifetime doing both. For Edward “Ed” Vecchiarelli Sr., the road to Weld County Classics wasn’t a carefully planned business venture. It was simply where a lifetime of hard work, entrepreneurship, racing, and a love for automobiles eventually led.
Ed is a businessman by nature. He has built, bought, sold and invested in businesses throughout his career, including Generator Source in Brighton, a company that grew into one of his most significant business ventures. Today, he remains involved as a part owner and board member. But ask Ed what he really enjoys, and you’ll probably hear about the deal. Buying something. Selling something. Finding the opportunity nobody else saw. Making a deal happen. That instinct has followed him throughout his life. And cars were no different.

Perhaps the most meaningful part of Ed’s story isn’t the trophies or lap times. It’s the family. Ed’s passion for automobiles was passed down to the next generation, with his son Eddie following him onto the racetrack. Their father-and-son battles became part of Colorado National Speedway’s history, including the 2017 championship season when Ed Sr. captured the Grand American Modified title while Eddie competed alongside him.
That same appreciation for craftsmanship, performance and automotive history continues today. Weld County Classics was born from that tradition. The idea is simple: classic automobiles deserve more than to be treated as old cars. They represent a piece of American history, design, engineering, craftsmanship and memories that can’t be replicated.

Why Weld County Classics?
After a lifetime of business, racing and collecting, Ed has reached a different chapter. He’s ready to retire.
And that means it’s time to let go of a collection that has been assembled over years of knowing what he likes, what catches his eye, and what makes a car special. But there’s an important distinction. Ed isn’t selling these cars because he needs the money. He’s selling them because he knows he can’t take them with him. And if he’s going to let them go, he wants them to go somewhere they’re going to be appreciated.
To someone who sees a classic car and understands that it’s more than steel, chrome, leather and horsepower.

That’s what Weld County Classics is about. Passing the Collection Forward Every car in Ed’s collection has a reason it’s there. Some were great deals. Some were hard to find. Some simply caught his eye. Some may have reminded him of another time in his life. And some probably represent nothing more complicated than Ed seeing a car and thinking: “I want that one.” That’s part of the fun. Because Ed has never been afraid to make a deal. Now he’s ready to make his final deals on a collection he’s spent years building. Not with the goal of simply putting cars in driveways. But with the hope that each one finds the right person. The next chapter of these cars shouldn’t end with Ed.
